hv-kvp-daemon-init software package provides Transitional Package for Hyper-V tools, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hv-kvp-daemon-init
hv-kvp-daemon-init is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hv-kvp-daemon-init package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hv-kvp-daemon-init *
You will get with hv-kvp-daemon-init package name, version, architecture and description in a table
